System services

Some software like antivirus programs, firewalls or hardware drivers can run as system services in Windows 2000/XP . To control the services startup use Computer Management application. You can reach it at Control Panel\Administration Tools\Computer Management. Also Windows during booting loads a number of libraries (from HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\KnownDLLs - this subkey defines the set of dynamic-link libraries (DLLs) that are searched during system startup).
With Absolute StartUp you can edit both system settings: services and libraries. Also Absolute StartUp provides pro and newbie with suitable interface to edit services' list: you can view, edit services' properties, change service startup mode, create and delete services.

Read more about services and libraries management.

Note: Beware when editing these sections! You should have the reason to delete service or library completely!
All changes are backuped to restore in emergency case by Absolute StartUp - use Recycle Bin to restore services and libraries.

You should have administrator's level to configurate this startup configuration.
